In addition to private piano instruction in her Milan studio, Karen Peterson has also taught Suzuki piano method at Dutchess County Community College and group piano classes at the Music School at Vincitore’s in Poughkeepsie.

Karen’s former career as a practicing attorney and law professor also informs her music teaching.  She encourages students to actively problem-solve rather than simply repeat or copy.  Learning is most effective when the student is actively engaged.
